Dec. 1st we started our day with a massive hike up The Great Wall of China. Oh my gosh, this was difficult not only was it a physical challenge, but cold. The steps were all different levels, sometimes I felt as if my knee was going to bump my chin. As for my class, I have a photo certificate to prove that I walked a portion of the wall. The picture below shows a portion of the steps we traveled, we actully made it a little farther up.
Next we visited the Summer Palace which was used as a summer residence by China's imperial rulers, a retreat from the main imperial palace now known as the Palace Museum (or 'Forbidden City') .

Last picture of the day is the arena where they will have the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Hi there. Last night at the Third Day concert, they played a song and video called Merry Christmas. One of the guitarists and his wife waited three years for their Chinese baby girl, and he wrote that song about all of the emotions they experienced during the wait. I cried my heart out, but then I thought of you guys and how you will be spending Christmas with your baby girl! It was so exciting for me to think of that at that moment. The Wortham family is going to have the most blessed Christmas ever this year! Blessings!!
