Day 6: Gotcha Day

Monday, December 3rd, around 2pm we headed to the civil affairs office here in Changsha. There were a few babies there off to the left before we were put in a large conference room. After about 10 minutes the large group of babies from Chenzhou City were brought into a large area outside the conference room. All of the prospective parents came out of the room and were each eyeing their little girl. We spotted our little Leanne by her eyes and her stand up hair, almost 100% sure it was her. About 10 minutes later we were proven correct as we held her for the first time. All of the hours and hours of paperwork and years of waiting led us to this perfect moment in time. Click on the video below............

All we can say is God is good!!! She is definitely a gift from Him!! Below is a pic of the 1st time we saw her. Leanne is on the right.

As I write this, Leanne is sleeping soundly in her crib. Please pray that she can adjust to the strange looking Americans. Below is one of the first group pics we have..........

Your class says, "Things aren't the same without you. We miss you so much. We really want you back. Mrs. Volp doing a great job and is nice. The baby is so cute and we really want to meet her!" "When we say her we just wanted to hold and hug her, " said Josh. Meen said, "I do miss you." Aaron moans, "I got my paw moved, but I will do better." Kaity wants you to know that Leanne is so cute. Celeste says, "Bring Leanne to the Christmas program." Volp says, "She looks gorgeous!"

There you go, Sherri

I finally got to see the video! What an awesome moment! Thank you for sharing it with all of us! I wish so much that I could have been that lady taking all the pictures. Leanne looks like a sweetheart and cutie! I cannot wait to squeeze on her and let her play with Avery. Those girls will be getting into some trouble before we know it. It was precious for me to get to speak with you tonight! You sound great - I am glad she is finally a Wortham...at least in China! :-)
love you.

I can only try to imagine the smell of Chinese baby lotion or shampoo while watching and realizing all of your sensory functions in high gear! What a wonderful eternal spirit God has given to us all for sharing while here on Earth. His Spirit is glowing with your happy family. Leisa
